Caring for your Aloe Vera

  • Provide lots of bright indirect sunlight or gentle direct. Avoid intense direct sun as it can burn the leaves.
  • Allow the potting mix to dry completely between waterings. Aloe is a succulent and can handle being dry for a little while as it stores water in its leaves.
  • Sensitive to overwatering and susceptible to rot.
  • Remove excess water from the saucer after watering.
  • Fertilize once in spring with an all-purpose organic indoor plant fertilizer or use a very diluted liquid fertilizer each time or every other time you water spring through summer. You can also use a fertilizer specifically designed for succulents.
