Air plants are epiphytes (they grow on other plants) and they do not need potting mix.
Place your air plant in a location where it will receive bright light, but not direct sun unless it’s a gentle direct morning sun.
Watering by soaking: fully submerge your air plant every 1 to 2 weeks during the morning hours in lukewarm water for about 10 minutes. Then carefully shake off as much water as possible and then place in a bright location with good circulation so it can dry fully within 3 hours. Do not place it bottom down in a bowl or enclosed space until fully dry to avoid rotting. If your plant is in a very bright or very dry spot, it will probably appreciate one good misting between soakings.
